Ventura College hosted the first of their four part Equity Project Leadership Series on Thursday, August 10th, in the new state-of-the-art, Applied Science Center. The first series was titled, Designing a Cohesive, Equity-Embedded Framework for Student Success at Ventura College. The program ran from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a lite breakfast before and then lunch after the workshop. There were 22 participants including faculty, staff and administrators, who participated in an overview and discussion of equity, the equity framework, CRTL, and the Appreciative Inquiry process. The group then worked on present and future strategies for embedding equity and CRTL in the classrooms, programs, and throughout the college campus. This was the beginning of an ongoing campus conversation of Equity and CRTL at Ventura College. We look forward to the next encounter.
