Zoom 101

Build familiarity with Zoom as a tool to facilitate effective online learning. Come for an introduction to the basics and return for refreshers and ongoing opportunities to collaborate with 3CSN, educator-learners, and students across the state.

Canvas 101

Build familiarity with Canvas to create an effective online learning space. Come for an introduction to the basics and return for refreshers and ongoing opportunities to collaborate with 3CSN, educator-learners, and students across the state.

Online Learning Assistance

Engage with 3CSN and educator-learners across the state in shared inquiry about research-based, high-impact practices that will support the transition of peer tutoring, supplemental instruction, etc. to Canvas, Zoom, and other distance learning platforms.

Virtual Community “Brown Bag” Hour

These interactive lunch hour sessions bring 3CSN, educator-learners, and students together to discuss a variety of topics designed to strengthen and support identities and increase student success. 

Equity in the Online Classroom

How can we be community responsive in our online teaching? This ongoing series invites you to join us for collaborative inquiry into community and culturally responsive pedagogy. As we all move to distance learning, let’s come together to dialogue and inquire into how we redesign for equity. 

Thought Partner Hour: Virtual Community Coaching  

Pop in for office hours with 3CSN and other committed educator-learners to talk shop in this time of transition. These sessions are topical.  

Virtual Community Student Hour (Support for Students)

Students, we are California community college educators, and our door is open to you! Bring your questions, concerns, and ideas for better supporting students on your campuses as we all navigate this virtual learning experience in a challenging time. All questions, concerns, and topics are welcome! We are in this together.

Using TED-Ed to Deepen Learning Online

Build familiarity with Ted-Ed lessons that allow you to create online lessons based on YouTube videos and supplemental materials from your class. Explore this tool as an alternative to Canvas or to enhance Canvas lessons.

Zoom 102 – Using Breakout Rooms Intentionally

Deepen your knowledge of how to use Zoom to enhance online learning. This session will focus on how to use breakout rooms intentionally to facilitate large and small group collaboration.

Canvas 102 – After the Basics, What’s Next?

Deepen your knowledge about how to use Canvas to facilitate online learning. Explore more features and dialogue about best practices in a supportive community of educators. 

Using Screencast-O-Matic, iSpring and Active Presenter as Online Learning Tool

Learn about presentation tools including Screencast-O-Matic, iSpring, and Active Presenter to easily record and edit video presentations that you can share with students asynchronously. 

“Text Talk” (shared reading and discussion)

These interactive sessions offer a rare opportunity to read and dialogue together. We will also practice using metacognitive approaches to reading to meet teaching, learning, and participation goals online.  

Virtual Mindfulness for Educators: Community Heart Share Space

Join colleagues in this intentional space to practice mindfulness, inner reflection and heart sharing.  Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 pm
