Transforming Student Success Through Appreciation and Integration (Central Valey BSSOT) — Clovis College (3/17/17)

This workshop focuses on integrated planning through the lens of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) to support colleges in aligning their student success initiatives and plans with student learning at the center of the effort.  The event is ideal for educators involved in coordinating and/or directing any part of their college’s Basic Skills Initiative or Basic Skills Student Outcomes Transformation Grant.  In addition to AI, the workshop will include:

  • updates on new funding formulas
  • cross-campus sharing on BSI and BSSOT efforts and related initiatives

Central Valley BSI Kick-off Event — Merced College (9/23/16)

Calling all BSI coordinators and educators connected to Student Equity, SSSP, and the Basic Skills Transformation grant! This event will be an opportunity to discuss the current state of the Basic Skills Initiative and efforts to integrate the various grant funding streams.

Engage in dialog with colleagues across campuses and use planning tools to further the ideas and activities at your own campus. Learn about professional learning opportunities supported by 3CSN to advance the growth of your campus efforts.

Parking information: This facility is located in downtown Merced. There is a parking garage on the East side of the building.  It is free and there is no time limit.  There is also parking on 19th Street in front of the building and a few across the street.

9:30 am Refreshments and Check In

10:00 am Welcome and Introductions

   Updates/sharing (new info from Chancellor’s office regarding BSI, BSSOT,

   integrated reporting with SSSP and Equity)

   Johari Window activity (reflection on one’s own campus; problem-posing)

   Who/What mapping activity (hub/network/community building; problem-solving)
                Integrated Planning Toolkit / Worksheet 2.0 activity

1:45 pm Evaluations and wrap-up

Morning refreshments and a working lunch will be provided. This event is free but reservations are required.
