Central Valley BSI Kick-off Event — Merced College (9/23/16)

Calling all BSI coordinators and educators connected to Student Equity, SSSP, and the Basic Skills Transformation grant! This event will be an opportunity to discuss the current state of the Basic Skills Initiative and efforts to integrate the various grant funding streams.

Engage in dialog with colleagues across campuses and use planning tools to further the ideas and activities at your own campus. Learn about professional learning opportunities supported by 3CSN to advance the growth of your campus efforts.

Parking information: This facility is located in downtown Merced. There is a parking garage on the East side of the building.  It is free and there is no time limit.  There is also parking on 19th Street in front of the building and a few across the street.

OCLN BSI Reporting Workshop — CCC Confer (9/24/15)

The California Community Colleges’ Success Network (3CSN-the BSI Professional Development Grant) and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) are sponsoring this BSI Reporting and Sharing Workshop.  

 

The workshop includes an overview of this year’s Basic Skills Action Plan and Report with a focus on helping participants navigate new reporting processes and resources:

 

  •  online submission process
  •  Z test  
  •  YouTube video tutorials

 

The workshop will also provide information and guidance on integrating college’s BSI Action Plans with Student Success and Equity Plans. Please consider inviting an Equity or SSSP leader from your campus to attend this event with you.  By attending this event, participants will: 


  • understand how the BSI Report can be successfully completed;
  • use Basic Skills Cohort Tracking Tool to examine sample data that outline cohort progression;
  • raise questions and exchange ideas about completing the BSI Report and using Basic Skills Cohort Tracking Tool; 
  • discuss connections between BSI Report and Student Success and Equity Reports; and
  • network with fellow BSI Coordinators.

Please have: 

  • a copy of your long-term goals from last year’s End-of-Year Reports;

Berkeley City College does not have a parking structure.  If you’re taking public transportation, BCC is 1/2 block from a BART Station.  

 

If you drive, you will need to pay for your own parking at one of two nearby structures on Center Street:
