Introductory Habits of Mind Workshop
This workshop introduces a popular Habits of Mind framework for describing dispositions that students need to succeed in college and career. In addition to learning how “Habits of Mind” have been infused campus-wide, participants will see a range of classroom examples that develop the dispositions. To understand the Habits up close, we will examine how the Habits are developed over time and in different contexts. Participants will surface and share relevant Habits embedded in their syllabi, assignments and student learning outcomes. We conclude with a discussion around the role of the Habits in supporting disciplinary understanding and modes of thought.
