Acceleration: A Powerful Lever for Increasing Completion and Closing Equity Gaps — Cuyamaca College (9/25/15)

09/25/2015 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Speakers:

Katie Hern and Myra Snell, Co-Founders of the California Acceleration Project, along with English and math faculty from Southern California colleges offering accelerated pathways

Description:

Join us for an interactive workshop on what your college can do to improve completion and equity among students placed into remediation.

Colleges offering redesigned accelerated pathways with CAP are seeing dramatic gains in student completion of transferable English and math courses, with all students benefiting and achievement gaps narrowing for students of color. Recent research has also pointed toward promising new approaches to placement.

With $60 million of new state funds allocated to support community colleges to launch and scale up these innovations, there has never been a better time to join the acceleration movement. Come on in, the water’s fine!

Light breakfast and lunch included for this free event.
